Do you desire healthy relationships and strong friendships?
The Bible says, “A man who has friends must himself be friendly…” (Proverbs 18:24).
When it comes right down to it, it’s up to us to take the initiative to encourage growing relationships, especially with people who don’t yet know Christ.
If you happen to get nervous and clam up when it comes to meeting new people and engaging with them, here are three simple tips for you to consider:
1. Pray - At the beginning of each day, ask God to bring people across your path with whom you can share His love. Then, take each person you meet as a divine appointment.
2. Be Intentional - Carve out time in your day to connect with people and engage them in conversation. Get creative. Have coffee, take a walk, help a neighbor with a yard project, or invite moms over for a play date. You may be amazed at what develops from a little effort on your part.
3. Nurture - Keep in touch. Maintain relationships with consistent interaction even if it’s just a quick phone call or a text to check in.
We’d love for you to comment below with ways you’ve gotten creative with #2 and #3. Your ideas may help others!
